Terms of Reference

The Advisory Board is comprised of stakeholders with an interest in promoting an understanding of the potential for genetics to enhance health and healthcare.  It provides advice and guidance for the Centre to assist it in ensuring successful delivery of its objectives.  In particular the Advisory Board will ensure that:

  • Stakeholder requirements are fully considered and advice given where there are competing priorities.
  • Key policy links are made as policy develops.
  • Its members will act as ambassadors for the Centre and its outputs.
  • Its members will act as ambassadors for the Centre and its outputs.
  • Its members assist the generation and development of networks and additional resources reflecting their expertise.
  • The Centre keeps pace with developments in DH, DfES and NHS structural change and in national workforce, regulation and learning issues.
  • Systems of governance and audit trails of decisions are transparent.
  • Issues raised through concurrent evaluation are addressed.

The Advisory Board meets twice per annum with discussions conducted electronically when necessary between meetings.
