Let’s talk about genes and I don’t mean trousers…

blue jeansThe Genetics Rap appears to be the perfect fit for educators seeking to engage younger audiences or at least the young at heart into the issues surrounding genetics. This is a genetics rap that Jay Z would certainly be proud of and has just been voted ‘Judges Choice’ in the recent “The Scientist 2010 Labby Multimedia Awards – video section. The Genetics Rap, written and performed by Jon Chase was commissioned as part of a project to learn more about the attitudes of young people in the Merthyr Tydfil region of the South Wales Valleys towards genetics. The”GAMY (Genetics in Merthyr Youth)“  project.
