The Genetics Rap appears to be the perfect fit for educators seeking to engage younger audiences or at least the young at heart into the issues surrounding genetics. This is a genetics rap that Jay Z would certainly be proud of and has just been voted ‘Judges Choice’ in the recent “The Scientist 2010 Labby Multimedia Awards – video section. The Genetics Rap, written and performed by Jon Chase was commissioned as part of a project to learn more about the attitudes of young people in the Merthyr Tydfil region of the South Wales Valleys towards genetics.
